This month's Talk

aARON bURR: FROM pATRIOT TO pARIAH

Popular culture tells us that Aaron Burr was a scheming, cold-blooded villain who killed the heroic martyr, Alexander Hamilton, but is that the full truth? The more we examine these two duelists' lives, the more complicated the story gets. 250 years after Col. Burr saved thousands of American soldiers from being captured in New York, join Keenan Noller, the education assistant for adult programs at the Museum of World Treasures, for a deeper look into one of the USA's most misunderstood founders.

SPEAKER BIO - keenan noller

Keenan Noller is the Education Assistant for Adult Programs and Volunteers at the Museum of World Treasures. From a young age he was fascinated by history, art, archaeology, and paleontology, thanks in no small part to his grandparents, Dr. Jon and Lorna Kardatzke, who founded the museum in 2001. He received his B.A. in International Relations and French from Anderson University, during which time he spent a semester studying in Strasbourg, France with Syracuse University and interned at the Strasbourg Historical Museum. After college, he lived in Cincinnati, Ohio for several years, then moved back to his hometown of Wichita in 2020. Prior to joining the staff at the Museum of World Treasures in 2023, he has earned a living as a barista, a bartender, freelance writer, substitute high school teacher, and working at a garden center. When he is not planning lectures or giving tours at the Museum, he is probably playing with his 2-year-old son, walking his dog, Frida, or watching movies with his wife, Jen.
